With an electric bike you can go far without it getting too hard — perfect for exploring both the seafront promenade and the steeper mountain roads inland. Several places in Almuñécar rent out e-bikes for half or a full day.

  The coastal route to La Herradura

  A flat, scenic route along the promenade, about 12 km there and back, with views of the bay all the way.

  Up the Río Verde valley

  Turn inland and follow the valley up towards Otívar — steeper, but the electric motor makes the climb manageable.

  Coastal route eastwards to the rock with the whitewashed town, about 20 km each way.
