El Chorro
One of Spain's most famous walks: a narrow walkway clinging up to 100 metres above the river in the dramatic El Chorro gorge. Once called the world's most dangerous path — today renovated and secured with railings, but still an adrenaline kick for most. About 1 hour's drive from Almuñécar, towards the province of Málaga.
Open in Apple MapsAbout 3 km of the full route runs on the narrow wooden walkway, fixed directly to the cliff wall.
Up to 100 metres straight down to the Guadalhorce river — not for those afraid of heights.
A swaying suspension bridge over the widest point of the gorge is the highlight of the walk.
The number of visitors is limited — tickets should be booked online several weeks ahead.
